WA56FKR was new to Stagecoach Devon Ltd in 2006, and given fleet number 35164. It was one of a unique batch within the Stagecoach Group, 35164-171, which were ordered to a shorter length of 10.1m as opposed to the standard 10.8m, to cater for a turn on ‘Cityline’ route H, in Exeter, where the bus was based from new.

 

When replaced by new Enviro200s in 2011, the batch of shorter Darts moved on to Barnstaple, where they were ideal for some of the rural services with their shorter wheelbase. 35164 would remain there for the rest of its service life, until withdrawal at the end of 2022.

 

In Spring 2021, 35164 was one of three vehicles in the South West to gain retro Stagecoach Stripes livery, as part of the 25 years of Stagecoach Devon anniversary.
