RF280 was delivered new to London Transport for their prestige Green Line cross-London express services, on which it served for thirteen years. In 1965 it was overhauled and modified to operate on local bus services, initially from Reigate garage and later from Northfleet and St Albans. Ownership passed to London Country in 1970, and it was withdrawn and sold in 1972. After passing through many owners RF280 was acquired jointly by G & J Hinson and A J Wylie and has been restored to 1965 condition.
